Russia court schedules Sistema's suit hearing vs Ural-Invest for Feb 16
MOSCOW, Feb 2 (PRIME) -- The Moscow Arbitration Court has denied a request of Ural-Invest, a company belonging to former shareholder of oil company Bashneft Ural Rakhimov, to reject a 70.7 billion ruble claim of AFK Sistema against the company and scheduled the hearing for February 16, a PRIME journalist reported from the court on Friday.
“The court ruled to deny a request of Ural-Invest, which has asked to leave the claim without consideration,” he said citing the judge.
Ural-Invest explained the request by the fact that AFK Sistema has not tried to resolve the dispute in a pretrial mode.
Last year the Moscow Arbitration Court ruled that a 71% stake in Bashneft must be nationalized and withdrawn from Sistema.
After that, Sistema said in a statement that it will sue Rakhimov, from whom it bought Bashneft, to force him to redeem the losses. Sistema will not appeal the court’s decision to nationalize Bashneft, satisfying a claim submitted by the Prosecutor General’s Office.
